Hi all, I’m excited to announce my debut chapbook, let it rip, with Bottlecap Press!
I’ve been working hard for the past few months to try and get a chapbook or collection published through a small press, and I’m glad that it’s out in the world.
It’s not the happiest of topics since my chapbook is a heartbreak / breakup collection. But hey, at least something good came out of all those sleepless nights and stressful times.
Astrologically speaking, I’m a Venus in Scorpio if anyone reading this has a similar placement :) ♏
It’s a dark and heavy one. I’m planning on writing a guest post that has mentions about it pretty soon.

Social Media / Promo
Here’s a pic I shared in a Facebook poetry group:

I didn’t have a detailed, lengthy marketing plan when the book was published as I happened to be on vacation last month (was visiting some family members in Maine).
I’ve been waiting for my author copies to arrive so that I can share some photos of myself with the book, and maybe start filming a few YouTube shorts that are creative writing related 😱
I don’t know about everyone reading this, but I’ve never really enjoyed being in front of the camera. I’m not on Instagram, Snapchat, or TikTok at the moment.
However…I can see how being on video adds a little bit of a human element versus just viewing text or pictures.
I’m planning on focusing on microcasting for now, and trying out short videos once I’m more comfortable with that.
Cover Art
I was planning on sitting back and letting the publisher do most of the work for the cover.
They asked if I wanted to do a sketch since I’m a part-time sketch artist, so that’s what I conceptualized and came up with. It was a distinct and clear image I had in mind.
PW.org Profile

I am thankful to the Poets & Writers team for including my profile in their directory.
My chapbook publisher Bottlecap Press has a profile over there, too.
Self-Publishing Thoughts
Last night, I was thinking of potentially reworking and relaunching some old short stories that I did under my ancient pen name.
I think a lot has changed since the 2010 era of self-publishing. There’s way more competition now and one truly has to be a marketing machine for self-publishing to be successful.
I haven’t written about self-publishing much, but maybe I will one of these days if I have some interesting tips or thoughts to share.
Thanks
