I just updated the blog theme from a white to darker background, to be more reflective of my “dark poetry” and/or horror writing aspirations!
2023 was a pretty good year for me in terms of creativity. I got back into poetry and micro-fiction writing after a long hiatus.
Some poems are climate change related.
Highlights include:
- “The Arsonist” in Hearth & Coffin (Jan 2024 / “Burn” issue)
- “Next Level” in Cosmic Daffodil Journal (PDF eBook / “7 Deadly Sins” issue)
- “Make Way for More” in The Coalition (Fall 2023 / “Imbalance” issue)
- “Eat Me” in Black Hare Press’s Ho Ho Ho anthology
I also got my little chapbook published via Bottlecap Press 💖
Visiting Boston last December with my partner was a blast as well!!

It was refreshing and such a mind-blowing change from where I currently live in Florida. The short side trip we took to Salem was fun, too.
While the cost of living is too high there for me to realistically relocate to, I did enjoy the mental relaxation there with social/cultural values that are much closer to mine.
For anyone who’s thinking about moving or living in a new place, this article is a great one about how your environment is intrinsically linked to your mental health.
I’m about to start cleaning up the (very rough) first draft of my first poetry collection.
I’ve also been enjoying Brevity: A Flash Fiction Handbook by David Galef.
I hope to make some progress with writing stronger short stories this year.
